Tips on Selecting the Healthy Hemp Oil

Healthy Hemp and CBD Oils

If you are always searching for the latest new products that promote a healthy lifestyle and help with a variety of ailments, you have, no doubt, stumbled across the benefits of hemp and cannabinoids, or CBD oil.

While many speak of these two oils interchangeably, they are quite different. CBD oil is made from the flowers, leaves and stalks of hemp (the cannabis plant), and hemp oil is made from the seeds. Due to the large number of hemp and CBD oil companies and the fact that this is such a new industry, there have not been many industry standards put in place yet. To truly find a healthy hemp oil, there are some key elements to look for when shopping around.

Let’s dispel one theory. Hemp seed oil has virtually no THC, the psychoactive element in cannabis. The only hemp oil currently sold is from industrial hemp. If you buy from an ” organic farm”, chances are you are overpaying for industrial hemp. Find out how the oil is extracted from the seeds. Hemp oil extracted using toxic solvents will not be healthy hemp oil due to the residual compounds left. Look for companies that use Supercritical CO2 extraction. This produces a pure hemp oil.

Although Eastern cultures have long seen hemp oil as a multi-purpose natural remedy, is has very little medicinal value for illnesses. Hemp oil has been found to interact with cell receptors that regulate the immune system and have antidepressant and anti-inflammatory effects. It is often used as a moisturizer and alleviates itching and irritation.

While long term studies have not been done on hemp oil usage, short term observations indicate hemp oil will help with skin irritations, help prevent heart issues due to Omega fatty acids, balance hormones, improve your mood and support the immune system.

CBD oil has been proven to have actual medicinal qualities. The FDA has approved prescriptions of a purified form of CBD oil called Epidiolex to treat types of epilepsy. It can also be used in the treatment of cancer.

CBD has been mistaken for Marijuana. Marijuana actually contains both THC and CBD. THC is what creates the mind-altering “high”. CBD is not psychoactive, but does produce significant changes in the body. Without breaking down the science in the body, CBD oil can positively affect inflammation and pain. CBD oil also has shown to be beneficial treating anxiety, depression, and nuerodegenerative disorders.

While the jury is still out on the long term effects of either of these oils, a healthy hemp oil or a healthy CBD oil have both shown to be beneficial in different ways.
